Sitecore 8, help where’s my license information?

By on December 19, 2014 in Sitecore, Tips and Tricks with 1 Comment

Hi there,

What an exciting day today! Sitecore 8 was released today on December 19th 2014, just in time for Christmas.

When you install Sitecore 8 you can immediately see a change in the Sitecore login screen when you go to http://YOURINSTANCE/sitecore

The look and feel is completely changed, take a look at the two differences in look and feels in the Sitecore login screen.

So I hear some people saying, he, where’s my license info in Sitecore 8?

Well the license info has been disabled by default in Sitecore 8

In the web.config, we can find the following setting, which defaults to true

If true, Sitecore hides the “License Information” link on the login page.
Default: true

<setting name=”Login.DisableLicenseInfo” value=”true” />

If we set this to false, we’ll get an extra link added to the login screen: License options, where the user can click on and where he can see the license info

Happy trails in Sitecore and a merry merry Christmas!
